So, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has received yet another update. Moreover, it seems to have bought in some issues instead of fixing existing ones.
The new version is now available as an OTA (Over the Air) update for some specific product codes. Those who are not comfortable with the OTA procedure, might want to check out the far scarier (we’re kidding!) NSU update where this firmware version would be made available very soon.
The current update is, however, a very small one, bringing with it some minor bug fixes. Be prepared to be disappointed if you were expecting a sea change in the way your 5800 functions, with this update. This, however, is still a recommended one, just for the bug fixes and performance improvements. Before you tread any further, may we also add that some users did face some issues post this update as detailed here. However, this seems to be a one-off case at this point of time.
As always, it is recommended that you back up all your stuff prior to updating the firmware.
